Photographer’s Note
Having posted a few photos from outside the classrooms of the little village of Agou Nyogbo Agbetiko, Togo - Africa, I chose to upload one from inside the classrooms.
As you can see, West African classrooms are extremely different from European and North American classrooms. They do not offer comfortable learning environment. They are exposed to wind, rain (when there is some) and heat, they have the bare minimum of furniture: dried black-painted wooden boards (used as blackboards), rough and uncomfortable desks (which usually seat between 2 to 3 students) and host between 20-30 students aged between 10 and 20 years old.
I particularly like how a map of Africa is drawn on the blackboard in the back and I love the eager expressions of the children, happy to be photographed!
I hope you like it!

Hello Anne,
A very nice and interesting picture, very informative and with lots of fine portraits. I like the light and the postures and attentive faces of the children.

Hi Anne!
Nice to see this classroom from Africa. Somehow its a little reminiscent of some classrooms in Southeast Asia and India....sparse, but presumably functional. Lovely brown tones of the building seem in harmony with the wonderful faces of the children. Just about everyone is looking at the camera, and into being photographed. Lovely light, and nice composition. Nice work, regards,
Steve

Hello Anne
Yes, i do like it :)
You've given us a unique look into the other side of the world, a world so many of us in North America may never see.
i also notice their clothing, or lack their of.
Great shot indeed!
My only critique, would be it could have used a straghtening up a little, seems a bit tilted.
otherwise, wonderful
Thanks for sharing

Bonjour Anne-Sophie.
