Togo: Fishing Photo

Please see posted fishermen fishing in the lagoon of Aného, a small town with a population of about 28,000 inhabitants. It is located in south-eastern Togo, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Lake Togo. The capital of Togo, Lomé is at 45 kms from there and the border with Benin at only 2 kms.
In an 1884 treaty signed at Togoville, Germany declared a protectorate over a stretch of territory along the coast and Aného became the first German capital of Togo since they extended its control also inland. Togo became a German colony in 1905 and the capital was transferred soon in Lomé. Today Aného has to offer a declining glamour and a nice beach, where you can stay and relax for some days in complete loneliness or at least in company of some fishermen. It is still a center of voodoo, and the main activities are fishing and farming.

Ciao Attila,
che bel momento decisivo! A parte la scena ed i colori bellissimi, mi piace molto la corona creata dai piombini che distendono la rete da pesca.
Sei riuscito a fotografare anche qualche rito voodoo? So che è quasi impossibile ma visti gli scoop a cui ci hai abituato...

Nice catch! the timing was spot on for this one, catching the net in mid air.
Looks like a nice beach as you also write.
I think you would have been better of with a black border instead though.

Perfect capture of the moment in which these fishermen launch the net in the water, in a very dynamic image and that shows the daily work in this place.
Good contrast of the men and the net on the bottom of color turquoise of the water.

Wow, look at the green glow of that water...really stunning. Also, the contrast with the dark skin of the fishermen is perfect for this photograph. I think the fact that you caught the net as it sails through the air is a key part to making this photograph interesting.

Már megszokhattuk: ismét egy nagyszerű pillanat, egy különleges helyről. Kitűnő érzékkel helyezted a két férfi alakját a kép baloldalára, így nemcsak a kivetett háló kapott központi szerepet a kompozíció és a téma szempontjából is, hanem sikerült szemléltetned a képmezőt betöltő víz szerepét a mindennapokért való küzdelemben. Úgy öleli körül a zöldes víz a két férfit, mint magányos hajókat a tengeren. Érzékletes, ráadásul esztétikus fotó. Továbbra is szép képeket és gyönyörű tájakat kívánok!

A nice scene with good panoramic framing to elongate the action, plus the shoot at the ideal moment when the net is fully spreading, you did not need more to provide a nice picture from a country rarely featured on TE.

Olá Attila, I really envy your trips in Africa. Great timming for this shot, with an excellent contrast of the human elements against the background. Interesting how the hand of the first one connects with the foot of the second one ;-) Very good capture of this fishing scene.

Remekül elkapott pillanat, a háló most úgy néz ki, mint egy hatalmas medúza (ámbár azt nemigen szokták ilyen lelkesen kirángatni a vízből). Szép a víz, fürdésre csábít.
