Photographer's Note

The road - a national road, the N5 - between Lome and Kpalime is not very busy with cars. All along the road you see people walking and carrying things, as well as bicycles and scooters.
The road is also the perfect place to sell your stuff and in Africa you have a business when you have more than three bananas.

Hello Gerrit,
Just a road and people walking, but still a very pleasant scene and so typical of West Africa. A nice composition with good depth thanks to the people spread out all along the road. The colours are very good in spite of the sharp contrasts and hazy sky. There is a black triangle in the foregound that maybe could have been cloned out.

Really, this scene is typical of much of Africa as a whole where they seem to live their lives out by the roadside, doing business as here or just chatting in groups of two or three people and whiling away the time. Good daily life image with fine colours and clarity. Thanks for sharing.

It seems scenes beside our roads here. People selling fruits and other things, waiting that drivers stop. I like to see these people walking with their colored clothes. TFS

Canon was your good tool, Gerrit, during your original trip in Africa. So nice colors friend. One of the ideas: you could crop the left side of the composition only. Compliments and friendship.

Excellent detail and light management; I like the way you framed the view down the road, except that triangle on the lower left is a little strange.

Your photo illustrates well the poverty of the country: still, it makes a much more attractive photo than lines of cars!! In the Caribbean, I saw a woman with two bananas and a papaya.
