Photographer’s Note
Sometimes, kids just like to make faces for the camera! It is nice to know that kids all over the world like to have fun, be silly around other people, and make funny faces.
If you look at the boy with the pucked up lips, you will see the scarification marks of the village.
Note I am now placing on all photos from Togo with children: In 2006, an estimated over 300,000 Togolese children were in slavery. Think about that number-- it's more than the population of many towns.

Hi Adrienne, that's a very nice shot, especially considering the fact that with all the kids jumping around I must have been pretty tough to keep focus.
Well done!
Cheers, Herman

Well done to capture kids!
I remember many times in my trips children joking this way in front of my camera. I posted some Chinese Children in Guizhou, for example.
And you are doing the right thing when you continue writing about children slavery in this country.
Today I saw another interesting movie about Africa, about Idi Amin, "The last king of Scotlend". Maybe someone is paying attention to these problems.
Ciao!
