Photographer’s Note

Zanzibar was just a dream.Maybe you remember my last post which should show the great clear water and the typicall sailboats of zanzibar.
This time I took the picture exactly from the beach at our hotel.
I saw some tourists wanting to take a picture from the boat in the water.They had a back which is water proof.I havnt´t so I just took a picture from the boat and the fantastic water.

A great title here as this water does appear to by crystal clear and the colors are incredible!! A VERY unique boat!!! TFS and have a great weeekend!

Nicely captured view of this superb place with such attractive color and scenic perspective to the horizon. Great composition of the boat and the 2 people by its side, sharp and good atmosphere of a leisure spot.

I like very much the colour of the water.The vertical format is a good choice. That old rustic boat fits well in that landscape. Nice colors and point of view.

Tobias,
that is certainly a dream and I'm dreaming already for many years to put my feet on Zanzibar.
This boat, water and people certainly deserve a shot, although I'm not quite convinced with your composition. I like the fact that the boat is so off center to the right and the people placed to the left. The colors of the water are fantastic, but I'm not so sure if you didn't take to much foreground and placing the boat so high in the frame. The sky with the louds look promising and I wonder why you didn't push your camera hihger. Such statements are however easily said when looking into the final product without knowing the local circumstances. So don't take it to seriously with this critique. those are just some thougts that I wanted to share with you.

Fantastic water here, so inviting, I bet you just put away the camera and went in the water after this shot. Very good image with good sharpness and clarity, You can see very well the bottom of the clear water. Good composition too, very refreshing image. Thanks.

Hi, Tobias. There are nice tones in the water and the boat is well placed in the composition. I don't know what the rest of the sky was like, but I wonder whether I wouldn't have included more of it and a little less of the water which is not so attractive in the first two or three centimetres of the image. this would also have avoide a position of the horizon which I find a little too central.

Hello Toba,

This is lovely, I would maybe try for a horizontal picture, than you better the composition can determine.
This picture is not 100% perfect with the division.
But I am maybe a little bit severe.
Colours are nice and I like your work generally.

Long time! I missed quite a few excellent shots of yours. The turquoise of the water is superb. But I like how you composed this image in vertical framing, with the boat in the centre & the water colour grading from turquoise to blue. Possibly you could have cropped the FG a bit...my thoughts. A fine picture even otherwise.
