And the rain on the end of that day, my last day in Tanzania, seemed to be endless as well.

There are two rainy seasons. The short rainy season starts from November to January. The long rainy season is between March and June when there can be heavy downpour, sometimes last for half a day or more. I was there in March the beginning of the long rainy season. The most incredible rain and thunder storm I experience, beautiful yet scary.

During the rainy season, the shallow, water-holding soil and over a million grazing mouths maintain the plains in a super-productive growing state. With ample food, the wildebeest females produce and suckle their calves. The wet season is also the time of year for predators to fatten-up. With an abundance of young and inexperienced herbivores lions, cheetahs and hyenas live in a never-never land of endless food. As the dry season approaches, the seasonal water-holes dry up and the grass begins to turn a golden color. The wildebeest then begin their annual migration. Thompson's Gazelles, Grant's Gazelles, Warthogs, and Ostrich remain behind to feed on the dried plants of the plains. Only species which can do without water for long periods and live on poor forage can get by during the dry season.

This photo has real drama and the contrasts between the light and dark sections of the photo are great. You can really tell what is coming in the photo. Good notes too!

amazing sky, and your're right, it's both beautiful and scary. I like a lot the striking contrast between the ink black clouds and remaining bright colours, the layering of darkness on the both sides of the light makes it look like a giant deity closing his eye. superb shot, my compliments.

Hi, Way. The sky shows fantastic colours here and a great variety of tones. I like the fact that is sandwiched between two dark parts which contrast well with the colours of the sky. I find the silhouettes in the foreground very elegant.

Incredible contrasts!
The sky is dramatically dark in the upper part, while the lower part is so clear and full of sweet and nice colours. OOOh!

what nice colours,it's fantastic!There is a wonderful combination of purple,pink and yellow in the lightened part,and the contrast with the dark clouds and ground is superb!I like the trees drawing their black silhouette on the sky!Magic atmosphere,I like very much.

This is an impress view of mother nature at work. I'm sure it's quite and experience being there when it really poured down. Great sharpness with layers of cloud formations. It's a drammatic image of nature in the great african plains. TFS Way.

Hello Way.
This one has a good contrast,the black clouds at top and the black ground at bottom framing the beautiful and warm colours from sunset(or sunrise).And the big distant clouds of storm with its edges shinig are great,it seems a movie sunset.I can almost smell the wet ground..
