At the heart of the Serengeti ecosystem lies an ancient phenomenon that is the largest movement of wildlife on earth. In pursuit of food and water, over a million wildebeest and half a million zebra and antelope migrate north from the Serengeti to the adjoining Maasai Mara reserve in Kenya every year.
During the great migration, plains zebra and wildebeest often intermingle. They are complementary grazers, preferring different parts of the same grass. Zebra, with their superior vision and hearing, serve as an early warning system for the wildebeest. Given the choice, predators prefer wildebeest meat to zebra.

This image is just a tiny little glimpse of the great migration.

Hi Way Ne Lim,
What a wonderful shot of this animal scene with a crispy clear perspective of the clouds stretching into far distance, truly magic achievement, well done and keep up the good work, thanks for sharing

Beautiful shot Way - an amazing contrast of colours between the golden grasslands and that intense sky. One can really feel the distance here, which, obviously, these marvellous animals are trying to cover. Fine work - Casper

Hi Way,
Excellent frame where you really can feel how immense the savana is. Those clouds, bringing the rain, are welcome for everyone.
Cheers
Marc

I know it is impossible to convey the magic of seeing so many wild animals gathered together in the same place, which happens if you are lucky to witness the annual migration. I like how you have managed to include the zebra and wildebeest together in the same image. The thirds composition works well too and the dark sky is perfect to back up your title. Did it rain much while you were there?
Kath

Hello Way,
nice and splendid this herd of zebras in the landscape of this ecosystem.Excellent presentation of this wild life and the combination of the earth and the sky.Well done.

Have a nice weekend,Danos

Hi Way, nice layered composition. I like the contrasting colors of the grass and the cloudy sky. The small zebras look great in midst of the vast plain. Regards, Yvonne

Another great safari shot - looks unmistakably like the migration. I like the long line of zebras and wildebeast... and of course youve framed this one perfectly.

Cheers,
Dave

hello Way
i like very much the way you have framed this scene: the beautiful dramatic sky separate from the earth by a perfect right line, and a large part given to this splendid sky!I like the texture of the yellow grasses and their contrast with the grey sky!The zebras and wildebeest colours is in a perfect harmony with the sky that give a real beauty to the photo!
Regards.

Minimalist but so moody !! The two layers provides impact and graphism. The two colors produce the contrast and the zebra are the unexpected extra interest. Beautiful cloudy grey sky too.
