[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A lion in the Serengetti lying low in the grass.
Truth be told he's not hunting, but rather resting with a lioness in the grass while keeping an eye on our 4WD.
There is something majestic about a proud male lion and his long mane - all who have seen will agree that there is something special about the big cats of Africa.

That's amazing you can experiment and capture such a scene. A kind of tv report image !!!
And you did it really great, with a perfect technical realization.
Impressive. Simply impressive.
Stéphane

At 200mm how far were you from the big cat? It is a very nice photo with the lion just showing his eyes. Well done.
Antonio

Hello David,
it really looks dangerous and scary until one reads the note :-). The eye contact is really great.
Well done
Best regards
Romana

Hello David,
Just impressive... it is difficult not to look at its eyes which are fixed on us. I would not wish to be left alone in front of him, even if you say he is resting ;-)
Have a nice weekend.
Best regards, Christian

Hi Dave, I really like your treatment on this one. Beautiful golden colours. The eyes! I swear this big cat is seeing into my soul! :D Your placement is excellent and the pov is outstanding! This is nature documentary type of stuff. Rgds, Leilani

Hi David,

Great one! The blurred onthe foregrund just add to the composition. Perfet timing to catch this beautiful animal with powerfull eyes. Bravo!

Regards,

Flavia

Hi David,
This photo is amazing, I'm surprised that it did not have more success : the expression is a bit frightening !
Fantastic POV, impressive !
Compliments,
Cath.

Hi David!

what a strange picture of a male lion!! I like it very much, its glans is so vivid and his mouth is hidden so we notice also more its eyes.
I am still waiting to see a lion in the wilderness!! I never saw one during my tours in South Africa game parks.

Ciao!!

Livia

Hi David,
I can see that you are more of TE man than a TL! Your gallery here is absolutely superb! I have done a similar trip through africa 5 years ago and I regret not to have a digital camera at the time.
Amazing shot of the King!!! those eyes.. wow.. ;)
Beautiful.

Hi David,
WOW those eyes are dangerous, You can feel the tension!
I wouldn't want to leave my car with such a predator.
Cheers
Marc

Hi David

What a beautiful picture! The colour, composition and clarity are superb! Very very well done and TFS!!!

Paul

What an impressive look! I like the POV and the lion's head position down, hidden by the grasses. The fact that the light is focused on the lion gives even more magnificence to its fur, and the look is really something. Even if the lion was not hunting, there is so much power in it!
Well done, David!

Marine
