| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
After our trek up Kilimanjaro, we figured it would be a nice idea to spend a few days recuperating in Zanzibar.
Many ran for cover when it started raining. My reaction was to go into a newspaper store, by a paper and a bag then wrap it around my camera and continue on. Sure enough, I was still able to get a few shots.
Respecting the privacy of any person, yet more specifically any Islamic woman, I chose to mainly shoot their backs, not having to ask for permission and thus avoiding possible confrontation with men around.
The part I most enjoy about this photograph is the falling raindrops and the streaks they have made with the slower shutter speed.I further really enjoy the colours on the young girl and where I have placed her within the frame.
Let me know what you think, it would be greatly appreciated - or even if you have some stories from Africa!

Adam-
Nice slice of life photo.
You have isolated the girl very well from her background.
One small suggestion. You have cropped the image too close to her feet. It is usually a good idea to have more room on the bottom of the shot than you have done. I understand the "quick shot" necessity of the capture. Next time try to also get all of the feet.
Thanks for the great note to go along with the photo!

Wonderful dayly scene!!! I love the way you have caught the girl with a nice sharpness, and the rest of the picture in the background. Wonderful composition. And a great DOF. Congratulations!!!
