The intensity of the eyes...the stare...is amazing. This baboon was the alpha male in a group I saw along the shores of Lake Manyara National Park. I was in a Jeep and the light was low, so I used max. aperture which made for the shallow DOF.

Hello, Ted -

The shallow DOF is good here; you don't want the background to interfere with the main element. I think I would have moved him slightly off to either side, though; he is too centered.

Great stare from an alpha male.
