| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Zebras cross in front of hundreds of flamingos wading in Lake Magadi, a soda lake within Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. At 20km wide Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest caldera and home to many species of wildlife including lions, rhino, elephants, buffalo, and hippo. The animals migrate between the crater and nearby Serengeti National Park. Interestingly local Maasai tribes also have grazing rights within the crater for their cattle; although I saw many animals including all those listed above unfortunately I didn’t see any Maasai tending their cows! The dark background in the photo shows the steep walls of the crater; the roads leading down into the crater are so steep only 4WD vehicles are allowed to drive down into the crater. |

Excellent photo and impressive colouring. It really must have been a great sight seeing this. Well done Clare.

I really like this picture, the view of only the base of what are presumably large mountains makes it all the more dramatic. Well done.
This is a nice shot, but I've couple of niggles. The unconventional central placing in the frame doesn't add anything, and foreground seems a bit overexposed. I think I'll try a workshop.
Wxellent Clare! These flamingos make a lovely setting for the zebras. well seen
