| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Taken from atop Kilimanjaro, the magnificent silhouette of the mountain hints at its impressive size. The early morning shadow of the free standing volcano engulfs Mt. Meru, nearly fifty miles away. The glacier in the foreground is rapidly melting. Soon the famed snows of Kilimanjaro will be found only in literature and photos, a memory of things past. |

I have been reading about the glaciers melting, and there being no snow on Kilimanjaro in the future. A tragedy. Your photo is excellent, with good sharpness on the glacier. As well, the two peaks to the right look very interesting with the mist around them. I don't see myself visiting here in the near future, so for now I must appreciate photos like this.
