A beautiful, mysterious sight in one of the many alleys of Stone Town. I was just passing by this dark and empty alley, and suddenly, there she was. The scenery was so beautiful. This dark, a bit threatening alley (I had just heard about the large, hairy spiders that lives in the Stonetown alleys...) and then there was the light in the end of the tunnel, a beautiful and mysterious woman, and that wonderful piece of architechture, the gate through which she entered.

I was thinking about posting this one as a B&W, but I do like the little warm, brownish colour tone and the hint of red on the wall. So the colour stayed.

Please let me know what you think.

beautiful
very nice capture of the moment
I like the way she walks, and colors work find for me though maybe BW may not be bad either
excellent

Hello! you were absolutely right to leave to color. It gives just the touch of reality needed to make the scene theatrical. In b/w I would have found it artificial, more a drawing than a picture.
You were lucky and you captured it very well.

Hi,
I like it!
Good idea to keep the colors, and all the elements are in the right place.
She cames with the light.
You had a real nice time in Tanzania!

Hi Frida,
indeed, there is real atmosphere in your shot.mixing colors and bw is a good idea and nice result.

Hi Frida. What a very pleasant surprise to see a new photo from you, I hope that you are well. A beautiful and moody photo from Stone Town with a nice perspective along the narrow street, and a well-placed lady to add a warming element of human interest. The choice to keep the very subtle colors of this shot was a good one, well done.

Wow this is a really nice shot. I love the lines in this shot and the subject as well. I believe that keeping the colors was a good choice. The warm tones add a little bit more feeling to a shot like this. Great work!

Now that I know Stonetown, I can assess how good is this photo. The diaphan dress echoes to the whiteness and the delicacy of the carved stone lace above the door.

You were absolutely right to leave this photo in a color version, to retain the delicate grey brown tones of the wall. probably one the best photos of Stonetown alleys in this site.
