This image is a one of the series of images images of street kids who are part of a small project “Lines of Grey” run by me and my friend Jade in the CCF center in Arusha (Tanzania).
PROJECT OUTLINE
This is not a NGO related project - but rather a personal one. We are currently in the process of teaching some of the street kids Photography.
The project is rather small in its scope and not meant to support the street kids financially, but more aimed engaging them in creative pursuits.
My personal project is inspired by the documentary "Born into brothels"" where the photojournalists gave out disposable cameras to the children of prostitutes working in Calcutta's red light district.
The scope of my project is not make a similar documentary, but just channel the kids activities. I am handing out disposable cameras to these kids to photograph the world they live in and the world they want to capture.
I just handed out the first stock of disposable camera and the results have been brilliant. If not anything they are happy in a pursuit that is completely new and exciting to them.

Hello Suchitra,
A very unique photo, and although quality is not very good (high noise and not very sharp), the subject matter is great. A very interesting note you have written also, it would be great to see some of the photos taken. Thanks for sharing,
Jules
