Aujourd'hui c'est la fête.
Alors je danse.
J'ai mis ma plus belle robe et mes souliers vernis.
On m'a coiffé les cheveux pour aller à la noce.
Je suis fière d'être belle.
Alors je danse.
Les vieilles, elles sont trop vieilles.
Elles ne pensent qu'à parler.
Elles s'assoient dans un coin et elles refont le monde.
La mariée n'est encore pas arrivée.
Il y a beaucoup de place.
Alors, je danse.

Then I dance.
I put on my more beautiful dress and my varnished shoes. One capped the hair to me to go to the wedding. I am proud to be beautiful.

Bonjour bertrand
Nous voici voisin en ce début d'année que je vous souhaite bonne.
Un lendemain de veille un peu difficille qui nous vaut cette belle réjoissance avec un petit tanguage à gauche.
Belle scène avec toutes ces personnes bien habillées et colorées devant ce mur délabré,et cette jolie danseuse en premier plan comme il se doit.

Bertrand bonsoir - je suis en train d'attendre le départ pour l'aéroport et je viens de tomber sur ta photo - c'est splendide et les couleurs sont fabuleuses, la petite fille ayant le seul habit jaune au milieu de tout le parterre impressionnant de vieilles femmes -
Bravo, c'est super joli
Bonne soirée (aujourd'hui, à Abidjan, il y a eu des tirs dans beaucoup de quartiers et la ville était un peu en état de siège - j'espère qu'il ne se passera rien pendant que je serais à Beyrouth car ma fille reste sur Abidjan).

Well done Bertrand. She really stands out, even with such a colorful and sharp background that the women's dresses and the building provides. Her expression is very serious as she focuses on her dancing. I think it may have also been good if the crop on the left took away the one left most window and the woman under it. But I'm not sure, as it is very good already.

When you say, "The bride did not arrive," I presume you mean "yet"!

This photo is great storytelling, and very culturally vivid. Women staying quietly on the sidelines, not asserting themselves; kids just being kids in their natural outgoing way without regard to sex. The worn building adds some nice texture, and the colors are great. I like it! Regards, Ken.

J'aime beaucuptes phots de Tanzanie, j'y truve tute une meditation sur la tension entre l'elan naturel des femmes et les contraintes de l'Islam. Belle capture avec ce contraste si frt entre les veilles et la petite qui danse selon sa nature. Belle note aussi, comme toujours.

Je vois que tu reviens a Stone Town, tu as bien fait de la poster celle la, elle est tres chouette cette petite demoiselle avec sa belle robe jaune qui illumine la photo, j'aime aussi son decentrement et la forte opposition de position avec toute la brochette de dames assises en fond.

Quelle belle attitude pour cette toute jeune fille,les dames qui font tapisserie derrière rien ne manque (il y en a une qui garde le sac à main de sa copine) à la reine du bal;
joli composition,beau cadrage,belle couleur et surtout beau regard porté sur cette scène.

C'est bien mis en valeur, ton sujet principal se fait bien remarqué (la couleur de la robe aide ...) et de plus tu l'as parfaitement placé dans ta composition. Un cadre (les murs) très terne rehaussé par toute ces robes colorées. bel ensemble.

Nice scene this one. Is a little daily life, but very interesting.
Talks about the people of a far country and also of the childhood.
Anyway, I would prefer a bite more of contrast.

nice picture, I like the vibrant colors. I also like how the rest are lined up on the wall talking to one another and the young one is in the foreground with an interesting posture which seems a bit assertive. Thanks for sharing!
