[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This young elephant was having a great time in the serengeti...trumpeting and chasing birds...confident in the protection that the larger members of her family would give her against preditors.

At one point, the herd was moving in one direction, but she spotted another flock of birds and decided to chase them away. Seeing this, her mother wrapped her trunk around her daughter, trying desperately to stop her from running away from the group.

I don't know if elephants smile to express joy, but if you look closely at the baby elephant, you can see a big grin on her face! :)

i know how difficult it is at times to get your 'best shot' ...i dont think this is...but the candour and fun of this herd gives a moment of joy and we can share it
i have just returned from masai mara and all my elephant shots are pretty boring...and my tanzanian serengeti even so as well..
for what its worth the elephants really make this shot...and you got it best you could.
well seen and admirably taken

Cute picture- the baby is smiling. The photo is a little blurry, but I don't mind it here- it kind of makes it look like a painting. Nice capture!
