This father was on his way back home with his 3 sons and their donkey carriage. They had loaded up some dry wood to take to his wife for cooking.
It's simple scenes like these that make you appreciate life as it is. These boys were having great fun to go out with their father and they were trying hard not to fall of the carriage.
The father was slightly concerned and looked behind to see whether all 3 of them were still there.
Or did he maybe have 4 sons?

Nice and a good note, Sabine
It sometime hard to see how hard some people have to work to get some food or to be able to light a fire while we in Europe just turn on the gas and its there.
We do take a lot of thing for granted here.
The composition is very basic but very powerful and strong
It says exactly how things are.
Technically and Quality wise its good
Ishai

Hi Sabine, these carriages in AFrica are so lovely. You took a nice picture and your note completes the story, which is so tru. Good DOF. It's a shame the donkey is not visible. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Michael

great image, simple but joyfull. It took me some time though to find out how is this carriage moving on, but finally I have found one leg of a donkey :)

hi Sabine,
it's a very original shot. I first took notice of the automobile tires used as wheels here, it looks really funny on a carriage moved by a donkey. So, I guess there is some sign of a modern life there. I wish the donkey's head had been sticking out to the right a bit more. I like your sense of humor describing the thing. It's a nice shot overall, well exposed with a really good depth of field. thank you Behrang

Hello Sabine,

Very nice capture of a daily scene. The lighting is excellent and the clarity of this picture also. I like the sunlight that comes under the carriage. TFS

Great capture of the human emotions in this photo ... nice candid shot and this photo makes me value life more too ... I think people in the west whine way too mcuh about life.
Thanks a lot for sharing this priceless shot ... I appreciate it a lot
cheers .... sarju
PS: Your photo is very good technically also ... I like the exposre settings and the over exposed areas with sunlight adds a good halo to the whole scene

Hi Sabine,
