| This was a friend of mine while I was living in Longido. We weren't able to communicate because of language, but every market day he let me hang out and occasionally help him with the cutting up the goat. |

Little bit too dark on the skin and the horizon is very tilted (not straight) but I think what this picture represents is very interesting indeed. He seems to like you ;) Also, I think I would try to position myself a little bit higher so we can see a little bit more of that goat.

Tremendously powerful portrait with this amazing guy occupying what, half the frame, certainly all of the left side. I can feel the movement of the knife, (just) suggesting dynamism. Love the African trees in the background. Great stuff! Francis

There is a real sense of being part of this scene, a combination of the angle and the way your friend and his knife are positioned so as to lead us into the picture. Perhaps it's also the knowing look he seems to be sharing with you. Anyway, an excellent picture Mike!
