Photographer's Note

For lots of people, traveling means sitting in the sand with suntan lotion and hanging around all-inclusive resorts, remaining inside the walls of their hotel complex for two weeks, except to go to a nearby shopping center or to take a day-trip to visit a a banana plantation with other tourists.

Although I respect everyone's preferences, I consider that the real fun begins when actually getting in touch with locals. So although Zanzibar is a very pleasant destination for its long deserted beaches, it was obvious that few tourists have visited adjacent villages, according to the enthusiastic reaction and interest of its small population.

As Wanda was busy shooting a person through a house window, this neighbor showed her curiosity by peeking out, allowing me to have a wonderful subject for myself.
