I have a love / hate relationship with these criters, knowing their SA relatives quite well. It is impossible to pass this type of thing by, you captured the moment well. Thus, a big smile. Time of day seems to be a problem with the exposure, but again the story telling component of the picture counts more than the technical. A warm-up filter normally helps this time of day, especially in Africa. PS, I will post a photo of the full anteater later, Johan.

Nice composition and subject. I would remove the chair since it decreased naturality. Also it is unfortunate that the sky background was not presented so well.

I actually don't mind the chair being there. IMO,it adds a little humour to the shot. And I don't imagine these monkeys often sit very still when there are people around, so this is a great capture! I do agree about the sky/exposure, but sometimes these things cannot be helped.....

Nice photo! I like the scene though I agree with Kikin that the chair does not belong there...
What you need is a person crouching on the log and the monkey sitting on the chair. That would be a cool shot. ;) The shot looks good as it is though I would try to reveal more detail in the monkey's face if possible.
Why is it that when a bird fashions a nest, it's natural, when a gorilla makes a bed for himself out of grass and leaves, it's natural, but when man uses his skills to fashion things, like a chair, it isn't? We live on this earth too, and like it or not, the things we make are natural to us and consequently, to this earth. The baboon had a choice of where to sit, and he chose the fallen tree. In the same situation I probably would too ; ) The chair to me symbolizes the fact that we too are a part of this world, and like it or not, our presence is a part ot this world's reality. Having said that, I do hope someone folded up the chair and took it home.
I love this shot Johan, though I wish it were a little clearer and the sky was not so washed out. Thank you very much for sharing this photo with all of us!
