This is a 12-mile wide volcanic crater in Tanzania, home to arguably the best wildlife reserve in the world.
The photograph is taken from the rim of the volcano, with plants in the foreground for perspective.
The crater has a dreamy look from above, but a wild vibrant explosion of wildlife on the crater floor.
One key difference between the crater and the Serengeti is that there is no major migration in the crater -- the wildlife is there in force year round. |
