...well, not really under the moon.
That's a "taxi" captain preparing to bring passengers across the bay in the afternoon, at Michamvi Beach in Zanzibar.
Zanzibar is an island in the Indian Ocean, East of Africa.
It is an autonomous part of Tanzania with its own parliament. In fact, the name "Tan-zania" comes from the union of the mainland, Tanganyika with the island of Zanzibar in 1964.
Zanzibar used to be the seat of the historical Oman State and the centre of African slavery. Arabic influence is all over the place, the religion being one of them. Zanzibar is 99% muslim.
Used a Cokin grey filter, increased contrast & sharpness, corrected the axis.

I really like this game of light and shadow here. Well captured the man and very nice effect in the water. Nicely framed.
Have a great day,

very moody scene. Good placement of the character and the exposure is right-on!

what a wonderful shot!
the contrast between the sparkling surface and the boatman is really doing the trick. i think the framing is very useful for keeping the balance between the noise of the water and the calmness of the actual scene.

I believe that sometimes colors distract the mind from the main message of a photo. As a B&W photos lover, I really like the black and white tones of this shot. Well done!
Have a nice weekend,
