[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken on the Rongai route of Mt Kilimanjaro which commences on the northern slopes close to the border with Kenya. Thus under these clouds is Kenya and the Amboseli National Park where giraffes and the big 5 run free.

Taken at about 4000metres on the third day of the 5day trek up and 2day trek down and just before I could feel the effects of the reduced oxygen.

Hello Marlene,
frankly speaking, this big rock looks like a big dog (with a big face and very big ears and a very funny nose which has a horn like a rhino's! The big dog is lying on the edge of a mountain and contemplating philosophically the beautiful landscape.
Concerning the small rocks on the "dog"'s head... well, I have no idea why this funny pyramid-like rock stuff is there :)
That's my impression at the very first (and all further) look at the photo :)
kind regards,
Elena

hello Marlene

Oh! So you are another person up on this Kilimanjaro! How I really envy you. I had been talking about this place last year but have not made up about going there.

I heard the trip stretch over a few days and is quite expensive. But snow cap and all the perks, must be a great place to be.

I like this black rock and the scenic background, it looks like something to imagination. But must be a long history in its formation.

tfs, bill
