Superb shot Kath, thee lighthouse from the hillside is well placed off centered, the beach curvature well seen and those kids playing added some drama in this shot.

Une plage qui donne envoe d se prélasser. le temps n'a pourtant pas l'air très clément. Les deux enfants donnent de la vie à cette image et le phare sur les hauteurs est un très bon point d'intéret.

Hello Kath,
A nice and decent composed image. Great balance in using the lighthouse on the right, i like that a lot. The two kids playing are such a nice detail, but also the bend along the shoreline make the picture a very pleasant one to see. Light is not at his best, a slight green colour cast in the sky...please don't be afraid to push the sliders in create light and colour in the image.
Anyway, i like this image a lot in how you present it here...very nice.

Hi Kath.
I presume it's humidly hot in this place. In which case the slightly pale look beautifully captures the heat and the effect of the white sand. The composition is delightful, and the children add interest and convey the peacefulness of the location. The boats and lighthouse balance each other really well. The ND filter has preserved some detail in the sky. I can see a slight green hue which Henk refers to, but it's not bothersome, and in fact the greens of the vegetation are sensational. Very nicely framed, too.

Many fine maritime elements in the frame, from the lighthouse to the kids looking for crabs..!
The situation is well framed with good details, and I notice most of the boats still use sails...

Hello Kath,

The empty shore is spectacular with just two boys. Great addition of its natural curve and fishermen boats. Lighthouse, green texture beautiful but partially visible turquoise sea color is eye catching there. Perfect natural colors and clarity. Congratulations.

Hi Cath! I like each corner and a interesting landscape Here apart from the boats and the background with the plants nature and the lighthouse give. Surprise the children that plays in the end. Good view and good work the landscapes of Africa!

Hello Kath,

A beautifully composed photograph!
The rule of thirds is so well adopted with the sea, the land and the sky.
The boats create lots of detailed f/g interest and the playing children help with the scale. The vegetation is vibrant whilst the lighthouse, standing tall above the trees adds balance.
Nicely framed to pull it all together.

Hi, Kath -

Another nice composition from Zanzibar! And from a part that we never got to, so that's an added bonus. (Did you go into the forest with the rare colobus monkeys while you were there?) I like the curve of the beach and the placement of the elements, especially the kids. I do think, though, that you've let the strong sun wash the scene out a bit; try lowering the midtones (one of my favorite tricks) and see if that helps.

Hello Kath,
This one is a nice place, seems to be very calm and has a splendid vegetation and a beach with the low tide and the boats that create an attractive scene. I like the detail of both children playing in the sand, and the lighthouse that is outlined on the sky, appearing behind the trees.
The color and the textures are very special and have a lot of graphical strength.
Good photo, I like its peace and the excellent organization of the elements in your composition.

Bonjour Kath,
ce qui attire en premier mon regard sur cette photo est cette bande de végétation avec une jolie palette de verts. Mais tout ce qui est autour mérite de s'y attarder, comme ces bateaux, ce phare ou encore ces enfants qui jouent sur a plage.
J'aime la texture du ciel.

what a great walk along the shore with a view of these boats resting for the next fishing expedition, the lighthouse in the background partially covered by the green and finally the real previous element of this shot - the two kids playing in the sand. Perfect composition with an interesting diffuse light.

I've just understood why I was finding there was a special light in this seashore serie. You've got a filter !!! And it's a great one, because the light mood you get is soft, cool and really peaceful. Fits very well with the place. Excellent.

It reminds me an old painting. Very beautiful. The two little boys playing alone on the beach make me miss my own times of childhood. That deserted beach with shallow (it looks like it, at least) must be perfect for children.

Beautiful and particular light which gives very pleasant soft colors. The marine landscape is well tallied with this headlight on the right outgoing of this luxuriant vegetation. This is a wonderfully composed shot. The muted colours give a very "real" feel unlike the overly saturated shots we see in holiday brochures, etc. Well done.

The lighthouse and the three dhows maybe the main attraction, but to me the best part is the two children playing on the beach. Light doesn't seem to be very good here, but compo. wise this is well done. IMO, you could have darkened the green of the trees in Selective Colour, unless they were actually in this lighter shades. Good work!
