[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Neither travelling nor in my natural environment, I am not a big fan of animals in photos. But this year, after succesfully climbed the Kilimanjaro volcano, we went to Ngorongoro and I have to recognize I felt absolutely in love with the place.

Animals have assumed that the cars inside the crater are another kind of animal not dangerous and not edible so they ignore them. This relationship allows humans visitor to observe the creatures at their own rythm of life, so if you are lucky you can spend a great day there doing one of the most exciting sports in the world: Learning.

Ngorongoro is not a national Park, aparently because some tribes reminds inside the crater. This is what this place was thousand of years ago, a volcano, a mountain of some 6000 meters of altitude that collapsed. Them it became a mountain of around 2000 meters where the animals live quietly.

Visit Ngorongoro is a experience you cant forget... Would you forget the first time you saw a lion in liberty?

As I am not an experienced photographer of animals, I look for this composition, with the ostrich all alone in this vast landscape. I hope you like it.

Bonjour Miguel

Abrazos

beautiful simple but powerful composition

This is wonderful, Miguel, and I know how difficult animal pictures are. What I like most is the emptyness, the "not much". I just love these earth tones. Maybe I would have preferred a little more of the flat part rather than the darker mountain side but this is just a matter of taste of course. Good, I like it. Take care, Barbara.

Hola Miguel,

Bien visto!

Hola Miguel,
Lovely scene of this solitary ostrich. The way you've framed the picture enhaces the impression of immensity that one must surely feel in this place. I hope to visit Ngorongoro one day too...
Have a nice day.

Tanzania?! Very exotic for me. I never been in Tanzania. Very interesting view about nature, good composition and nice warm colours. I like your loney animal. Well done.

Hola Miguel
Increible, que buena oportunidad has aprovechado aqui,
Daniel

Miguel,
wonderful framing of this lonely looking austrich. With this wonderful composition you give me the impression of huge plains, slopes and range. Placing the asutrich there in the left lower corner and having it walking into the scene is exactly the right thing to do photographically speaking.
Excellent wildlife shot for someone that declares not to be experienced in this area!
Regards, Peter

Hola Miguel.
Felicitaciones. Gracias por tu interesante nota.
Abrazos.

Your journey seems to have been a great and "troubling" one. That's cool.
The shot is well composed, with this tiny animal in this nature ocean. I'm not so fan of animal shots and you avoid the "natural" composition (big focus on the beast, no environment...).
But I can't understand the bad definition you get in the upper part (the darker part actually). Is it a compression problem ?

Hi Miguel,

I like your beautiful explorations into simplicity. The extreme placement and scale here is a fantastic choice. He seems to be the only living being in the world.

Composing the image like this is the perfect way to show the sheer size of this place. The ostrich is in the perfect place too with all the vast area to walk into. We are hoping to go to Tanzania in January and Ngorongoro is in the itinerary so I read your note with interest.

Carlos.
