A lot of contrast but I like this style it gives a great and mysterious atmosphere!!
well done
Laetitia.

Hi Karina, this silhouette style B&W photo has well depicted the desperate environment in the area. The inclusion of the two person and two trees showing the hardship very clearly.

very dramatic and upsetting image. the choice of b & w and exposure of different elements into the photo add to the impending doom.
it's a powerful image.
thanks for sharing.

what a great daily bw shot! the contrasts are wonderfull!

Oh, I like a lot the idea behind this image. A bit oversharpened and lacking definition. Otherwise a good compo that would even be better (IMO), with the use of a real wide angle including the whole tree on the left sideand more landscape to accentuate the feeling of immensity and solitude. Very moody atmosphere.

wow! another very fine composition from you. beautiful and quality picture.

Too much contrast, but is a very beautiful and poetic image!!!
Thanks, ciao

Karina,
I love the dramatic, high constrast image. You have placed the two kids in just the right place. Even a millimeter to the left of the right-side kid would have been non-ideal. The placement of objects within the frame is also perfect. Love the grain and the dark sky and shadow. Very good post processing. Superb image!

ooooh this one is soooooo beautiful karina
a very very powerful photograph
the dry trees cry out the story here
and the dark clouds in the distance, are quite a tease
i think you should have chosen a cold black and white tone for this though instead of a cold blur tone.
let me try out a workshop for it
take care :)

Nice photo, but I would have like to see the entire tree on the left and more details on the faces people (less contrast?).

I enjoy the soft rolling swales in this image. I wonder if you manipulated this image at all? If not, it has a very interesting look which I'd love to hear more about how you achieved it. I sense something was cloned out of this image to the right of the tree on the left? (was it a 7-Eleven store?) I find this to be one of your most powerful images...the placement of the subjects, the tension between the tree and the figure on the right... pls forgive all my speculations in advance!

Karina, fantastic photo.
Great composition and contrast.
Did you dodge the 2 children? I think it poetic. Maiko

GREAT B&L PHOTO.THE DRY TREES AND THE BARREN GROUND CLEARLY GIVE OUT THE INDICATION OF WATER SHORTAGE IN SUCH A PLACE.WELL,SOME COUNTRIES IN THE AFRICAN CONTINENT viz, ethiopia, tanzania, somalia, etc DO SUFFER FROM DROUGHT CONDITIONS.THANKS FOR POSTING THIS IN BLACK AND WHITE AS IT DESERVES TO BE IN.

I love the mood of this- especially the very skeletal trees, they are very sharp

Well named. I spent three months probably close to where this was taken and the shot captures the area well. Well composed.

karina,
this is very nicely composed, look like a documentary shot.the view well defines the troubles, the children and the trees make a very mysterious atmosphere, great mood here.
regards

just great.
