Photographer’s Note

J'avais quitté l'hémisphere Nord pour partir en voyage.
J'avais passé l'équateur pour fuir les rigueurs de l'hivers.
J'étais arrivé là, à Zanzibar, dans une chaleur moite, et un festival de couleurs.
J'étais dans l'hémisphère Sud, et plus rien n'était pareil.

Les heures changeaient au gré des jours *
Les bateaux dormaient au milieu de la mer,
et les hommes marchaient sur la tête.

* A Zanzibar, l'heure commence chaque jour au lever du soleil. Il y a donc environ 6 heures de décalage avec l'heure "occidentale" où la journée commence à minuit.

I had left the northern hemisphere to leave on a journey.
I had passed the equator to flee the rigours of winters.
I was arrived there, in Zanzibar, in a moist heat, and a festival of colors.
I was in the southern hemisphere, and nothing was similar.
The hours changed with the liking of the days *
The boats slept in the middle of the sea,
and the men walked on the head.

* in Zanzibar, time begins each day with the rising of the sun.
It give approximately 6 hours of shift with the occidental time where the day starts at midnight.

Une belle photo bien réalisée et toute un pose pour le photographe. C'est merveilleux avec le bateau derrière et les couleurs sont superbes au coucher du soleil. Même décalage qu'ici, il est 15:00 hres et chez toi 21:00 hres. Beau travail et excellente note comme toujours.

Quel étrange endroit où les unijambistes font le poirier sur une main!

C'est sûr, c'est nettement plus sympa que la salle de sport de la banlieue parisienne!

Wonderful sunrise shot Bertrand. The silhouetted 'acrobat' is placed right against the bright reflection in the water, and he is warming his toes with the sun. The inclusion of the dhow is perfect for balance. Good work

Voilà une photo qui fonctionne très bien. Bien sûr, il y a les ombres découpées dans le contre-jour, bien sûr, il y a la poésie romantique de l'aube et une composition savamment maîtrisée, mais, moi, là, ce qui me heurte de plein fouet, c'est l'humour de la situation, où l'homme semble donner un coup de pied dans le soleil, et ainsi, le coup d'envoi d'une nouvelle journée. Bravo!

un beau contre jour bien maitrisé, un endroit idyllique que cette ile de zanzibar, j'ai hésité quand on étaient en tanzanie entre le safari ou le faniente dans ces lieux mais tu me connais j'aime trop bougé donc j'ai préféré le n'gorongoro, mais a voir toutes les photos de zanzibar ca me donne envie d'y retourner

yes, sometimes when you travel everything gets seems to get turned around. This image makes a good point together with your note and the silhouet is placed exactly in the right place. I find the inclusion of the dhow adds the balance.
PS I may be making my first trip to Tanzania this winter, any tips must sees?
