Photographer's Note
Zanzibar is an island in the proximity of Eastern Africa, in the Indian Ocean. It is part of the Tanzania federation, which comprises the mainland, Tanganyika, and the island of Zanzibar. The two had been unified under the name "Tan-zania" in 1964 after their independence from Great Britain.
Zanzibar used to be the seat of the historical Oman State and the centre of African slavery. Thus, it became a colorful mixture, with the Islamic religion being the unifying force. Unlike the mainland, it is 99% Muslim and you often meet girls with headscarves in the streets. If you approach them gently, they are
more than willing to pose for you.
Farrokh Bulsara was born in Zanzibar. We know him rather under his popular name, Freddie Mercury. Could it be that he was inspired by his youth in the island when he wrote the lyrics of Bohemian Rhapsody?

Bonjour Erdem

ozur dilerim zamaninizi aldim.fotograf muhtesem begendim.

Hello Erdem
This is a beautiful twin portrait. I like the fact that one girl has very direct eye contact and the other smiles but turns aside. Very well composed and exposed; the shallow depth of field has worked successfully to make a sort of hierarchy of attention. Good work.

Will

Hello Erdem - Very good use of DOF makes for an unusual double portrait. The two girls are quite different in expression and I am sure personality. The white headdresses and dark skin present exposure challenges but you have managed this very well. Nice work! Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Erdem,
A nice double portrait with good use of depth of field. I like that the one girl is looking so directly at the camera and the other more shy looking away, adding a nice dynamic.
Regards
Wanda
