La ville de Stonetown, où il fait bon errer à la découverte d'une architecture très riche, est classée au Patrimoine mondial par l'Unesco. Ses fameuses portes en bois regorgent de détails sculptés qui, à l'origine, donnaient des informations sur les habitants de la maison (profession, religion, statut).

Zanzibar's Stone Town is rightly famous for its old wooden doors. They are intricately carved from heavy wood, and most of the decorations with brass or iron accents have some form of religious or cultural significance and follow either the Indian or Arabic tradition.

meme quand il n'y a pas la plage tes photos de Zanzibar sont superbes, pleines de sensibilité et d'emotion...
ce petit bout me fait penser à celui que j'avais pris en Colombie (qui lui sortait de sa maison)

It is a beautiful door and the blue dots on the door is even matching with the blue carpet on the floor.
And i fell in love with the the little fellow just entering the house. Great catch!

j'adore ce tout petit bonhomme qui pousse cette grande et lourde porte avec son pied.La scène est marrante et attendrissante.L'architecture et les couleurs sont somptueuses.

Je trouve cette photo géniale, sur le contraste entre la taille du gamin et celle de la porte, sur la gestuelle de l'enfant, on dirait qu'il ouvre la porte avec un grand coup de pied, la teinte du bois, le cadrage et le piqué. Une bien belle photo.

Elle parait immense cette porte avec le petit bout qui pris ainsi l'on pourrait penser qu'il la pousser avec son pied comme karaté kid :-) superbe dans le cadrage, la netteté et la scéne est adorable

Waouh, le petit karaté kid, cousin de Benoït Brisefer, qui ouvre la porte d'un coup de pied bien senti; c'est trop fort! Excellent timing pour cette photo! Très bien cadrée en plus, avec une de ces fameuses portes zanzibarites, si imposante en regard de la taille du mouflet!

now THATS a door!
I know that the small boy makes the vertical door seem even taller, but it still looks like an oversized door.
without the boy, alot of the charm would be lost.
good for you to wait it out and capture this moment.

J'aime beaucoup celle ci. Le cadrage est parfait pour exploiter le bambin qui franchit la porte et le contraste entre ce portail imposant et austère contre la grande enjambée pour passer le seuil.

As natural as it is. I really like the idea presenting the moments without further processing. It depicts and preserves the true theme of the frame.

Little boy versus large door is appreciable theme.
