This was shot at the Protea Hotel Zanzibar Beach... I stayed there for 2 weeks working on a swimwear shoot... this is an East facing resort so great sunrises and moon rises but the sunsets behind the resort
Anyway after a long day in the sun we were having a few tall drinks in Fat Harry's bar (to the left of the shot) when I saw the moon rising, at that time it had just cleared the sea... so I ran to my room to get the camera and set it up just outside the dining area... by then the moon was already climbing quiet quickly and loosing the deep Blue...

The resort is nicely set out with beach sand and Palm walkways between rooms and the entertainment area which is all open plan with drop down sides should the weather get bad...

The pools has a 30m deep end as the hotel has a PADI dive centre... the Dhow (Out rigger) that you can make out is what the locals use to fish with and is part of the display round the pool...

enjoy

Great mood here, there's nothing meancing about this night shot. HOwever I wold have tried to remove the lifeguard thing on the tree to the left. Nice pic!

To me, the life guard thingy works just fine, keep it in! Nice sample of windy palms classic. What's the out-rigger doing poolside? Please provide notes, it makes TE a better place.

Amazing shot Allan.. stunning view..you did a great job!
