Photographer’s Note

Another very lucky moment during our safari.
On our first day in the ngorongoro crater We saw at the end this lion lady lying 4 meters away from the street.
We was so close to this lion.
After yawning and relaxing this lion stood up and went to another place to sleep.Lazy animals they are only hunting at night.
By the way this lion is the same one I posted some days before.

Hallo Tobias!
Dachte ich mir doch dass Du bei Deiner lens auf 250mm gegangen bist und nicht näher hingegengen bist.......Ich hätte es nicht anders gemacht,sondern wäre eher auf 300mm meiner lens gegangen............
Ein tolles Bild dieser "Königin".Ein schöner Ausdruck,wohl eher müde als aggressiv und toller Kontrast mit dem Grün außenherum.
Ein wirklich gutes Safarifoto.

I was also amazed how close many of the animals came to the jeeps and paid them no attaention at all. You timed this one to perfection as she was yawning. f5.6 was a good choice to throw the background out of focus. Well done

incredible shot! It really gives the impression that you're almost ready to make some circus stunt by placing your head and camera in the lioness's mouth. Please don't do that. Incredible rendition of colors here and every detail is crisp.

Hi Tobias,

this is a great shot. I like the focus you have on the actual lion and the backgrounds blur. The colors are just perfect. When you where in the crater, did you use a UV, filter? I did and it made the pictures much clearer and the colors got better.
