Photographer’s Note

J'ai rencontré Martin, un beau matin.
Dans le Parc National d'Arusha.
Il avait arrété son travail un moment, pour venir à ma rencontre.
Je l'avais trouvé là sur sa branche.
La rencontre fût furtive.
Nous avions juste fait quelques présentations.
Il s'appelait Martin et moi Bertrand.
Il était pêcheur et moi photographe.
Marché conclu.
Clic clac.
Il était immédiatement retourné au travail.

I met Martin, in a beautiful morning.
In the National park of Arusha.
He had stopped his work one moment, to come to my meeting.
I had found him there on a branch.
The meeting was furtive.
We just had some presentations.
He called Martin and me Bertrand.
He was fisherman and me photographer.
Concluded deal.
Click clac.
He was immediately turned over to work.

Hi Bertrsnd!
Wonderful and much better photoquality than my "white throated kingfisher".
Perfect composition with him sitting on that diagonal twiglet and a very nice blurred background.

Hello Bertrand,

Couleurs bien saturées et cadrage idéal. Le bec est impressionnant de couleur.
Seul le bruit est un peu important dans ce bokeh. Je pense que tu as dû monter les ISO pour celle-ci.

Avec ses couleurs bien vives et un bokeh magnifiquement réussi, une composition léchée, et une netteté du diable, tu nous proposes une bien belle image aujourd'hui! J'aime bien son bec entrouvert comme s'il était sur le point de dire quelque chose. Allez, Martin! Un discours! Un discours!
A ça me met de bonne heure! On peut même dire qu'il me donne drôlement la pêche, Martin!

Je l'aime beaucoup ton copain Martin et ce doit être un excellent pêcheur avec ce grand bec (je trouve sa taille vraiment extraordinaire proportionnellement à la taille de Martin!).

Perfect capture of the attractive subject, though it looks having been taken with a longer lens than 300mm. light on the eye and the beak have been expertly rendered in the beautiful blurred background.

Bonjour Bertrand,
la photo animalière n'est pas dans tes habitudes, mais elle devrait y rentrer car elle est de qualité. Une prise bien étudiée au niveau de la PDC, qui donne cette impression de relief.
Un cadrage qui évite le centrage et donne de champ dezvant l'oiseau. Enfin, ces couleurs naturelles rendues dans des lumières bien capturées.
J'aime beaucoup.

You did a great job of capturing this little Kingfisher. I saw these little birds in Kenya this past summer, but was never able to get one close enough for a good shot. The technical details and the composition are spot on the money. Well done! Great capture!

Un Martin Pêcheur différent de ce que l'on voit en France.
Oiseau difficile à capturer par l'image et j'avoue qu'avec ton 300 mm tu as eu un sacré pot.
Image très appréciable par ses couleurs et sa netteté.

Beautiful shot of the king fisher, Lovely details and beautful colors of the plummage. the spakles in the eyes bring much live and 3D feel to the bird, excellent cropped for a best composition, leaving enought room for the bird. Excellent connection between the photographer and his model.
