Tomorrow they will blow come CO2 to my belly when I picture myself with a blown belly I remember this scene during our 3rd day on safari at Serengeti National Park. When we came near a hippo pool we noticed a swollen shape. I guess he was dead for couple of days. He looks like a big balloon which was kind of sad and funny at the same time. The one on the right hand side came near him a couple of tımes and push him a little with his noise. Maybe he was trying to move him, not sure...
The Serengeti National Park is a Tanzanian national park in the Serengeti ecosystem in the Mara and Simiyu regions.
The park covers 14,750 km2 of grassland plains and savanna as well as riverine forest and woodlands. The park lies in the north of Tanzania, bordered to the north by the Kenyan border, where it is continuous with the Maasai Mara National Reserve. To the southeast of the park is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, to the southwest lies Maswa Game Reserve, to the west are the Ikorongo and Grumeti Game Reserves, and to the northeast lies the Loliondo Game Control Area. Together, these areas form the larger Serengeti ecosystem.
Human habitation is forbidden in the park with the exception of staff for the Tanzania National Parks Authority, researchers and staff of Frankfurt Zoological Society, and staff of the various lodges and hotels. The main settlement is Seronera, which houses the majority of research staff and the park's main headquarters, including its primary airstrip (from Wiki).

It's a very sad image of death, that hippopotamus body will feed the crocodiles of the river during many days
Serengeti Np is a hot spot of biodiversity and you were lucky to visit that place, nowhere on earth you'll find such concentration of big mammals
