Unfair nobody stopped on this picture.
Maybe the contrast is too strong, but the scene is very emotional.
Well done the sharpness at the left side and blurness at the right...

i would make it a bit more sharpen, maybe
in rest a good, strong picture with these black dense shadows and the kid, grown up too early. maybe he keeps not quite a toy in his hands, god knows.

First of all...i very agree with Karine...nobody stopped,only few members.
Good picture...i do like it...the contrast and composition is good,you choose well the B&W version.

It is certainly an emotionally appealing photo, the high contrast treatment intensifies the impoverished condition, but somehow the image suffers from a lack of context. I think it is largely because of the shallow depth of field. I keep wondering how it would be if you could get a bit closer with a wider lens and a deeper field, perhaps the wooden bars of the cottage slanted, lines of the street receding into the horizon...what is that dark blotch on the ground--a sleeping dog perhaps--it would be clearer, perhaps a more striking image that way. I wonder...
