Photographer's Note

I have a few apologies for this image, so I thought I would get them out of the way.

This image was taken on those initial old digital cameras that if you were lucky you got to achieve 300kb image.( and cost 4 times what they would do today). so my apologies for it being so small.

My second apology is for continuing with my cricket galery, a strange and complicated sport to many who have not played it - Sorry, its a passion in life and I can get carried away.

ABOUT THIS IMAGE:

We had been asked to do a promotion on cricket for the South African Cricket Authorities, this was soon after the end of Apartheid and there was a huge interest in cricket from the rural areas. We did not have a clue what we were going to do, until by chance we were on a hike through the magnificent rural Swaziland forsets, and totally unexpectantly came across this game of cricket in one of the remotest and poorest areas high up in the Swaziland mountains.. The concept came to us immediatley - TAKING CRICKET TO WHERE ITS NEVER BEEN PLAYED BEFORE. It ended up as a great campaign that was eventually taken up by the International Cricket Council on a global basis.

Enjoy - its one of my favourite photos - I just wish we had, at that time, the digital cameras we have today. Rich
