Hello Refal,
interesting that we don`t know these pyramids not well enough.
I mean what is more interesting than pyramids in a desert that belongs to a muslimic country?
I like the traces on the ground: it`s like a metapher to the pyramids that are traces of history...
Thanks for sharing
Regards
Ferhat

Hi Rafal,

Wonderful pyramids you got here! Especially the sky is difficult to get with a good light balance. You used a polarizer here I guess. I made some pictures of them as well when working in Sudan a year ago - unfortunately didn't have a polarizer with me back then and didn't post those pictures yet.
What I liked more is the drive towards the pyramids hahaha. We drove to the North West from Khartoum for about 100 kilometers and then started to cross the desert Eastbound on GPS. When hitting the Nile, we drove up to find a barge to get us across and then it was another 30 kilometers by road to the pyramids. Especially the desert crossing was very nice!

Did you already go to the Kushite temples of Naqa and Musawwarat es Sufra. Also nice! Have a look here for my Sudan weblog back then: http://dpbours.web-log.nl/. You'll also find more historic information on the pyramids here.
Little about work, since I didn't want to offend any government officials and getting thrown out of the country by discussing too much. ;-)

Thanks for sharing this one and bringing back some good memories!

Greetings! Dennis
