Pyramids of Nuri
The pyramids of Nuri are part of a cemetery, belonged to the Nubian city of Napata, whose center was at Mount Barkal.
Nuri is situated about eight kilometers in a straight line to the northeast of Mount Barkal on the east side of the Nile. It is still unclear why the Kushite rulers for their pyramids chose a place that was so far from the central temples. The presumptive residential town Sanam is located about five kilometers south.

A great capture of this fascinating place. The couple of visitors are well placed and bring the scene to life as well as offering a sense of scale. A well exposed image despite the harsh light and having very good colours and clarity.

Oddly what attracted me first was your refusal to go down the over-saturated route that so many on the site see fit to travel! This is a beautiful and impressive location, and the inclusion of the couple gives scale and humanity to the landscape.

The distance between the persons and the pyramids is giving depth to the composition. It is also well divided, the sky, the pyramids and the persons. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the pyramids. Have a nice day.

The two person that you have included really make this picture. They add both life and proportions to the motive. And this motive is really very interesting. Very attractive colours!

Another interesting picture from Sudan. Pyramids is very interesting and fascination. These pyramids don´t have same impressive size like the Gize pyramids but still very interesting. Good composition and colors, tfs!
Have a nice evening.

This looks to be such an interesting place. I envy you!
Is there a theory that these people were the origins of the Egyptian culture?
A beautifully composed shot, the figures strongly positioned in frame, with footprint leads, that add a storyline to the shot.
Have a lovely day,

Part of our planet I probably will not see, due to politics, Achim.
A desert scenery with a unique pyramids ercted in juxtaposition on the dunes.
Well managed allocation over pic. space, fine contrast collected, and foot-prints on the smooth sand are marvelous sight, evidence of people living there.

very interesting place and a really attractive presentation. I like the long shades which help to emphasize the patterns on the sand. People add a nice touch. I love deserts. The closest to this place I was in Abu Simbel...

In this picture you show the pyramids from a different POV. The pyramids seem to be made of bricks and few of them are in bad shape. But as in your last post, this is a new learning for me
