Shendi taylor, a photo from Aali an Nil, South

Photographer's Note

One of the first market I visited in Sudan was the one in Shendi. It was an opportunity to feel how to manage contacts with local (to talk, to comunicate and to take some photographs).
Not far from a small restaurant I saw this taylor resting a while... a sight was enough to get his permission to take the photo... but I didn't took it on the spot. I waited a while to get from him a more natural sight.

Une célèbre méthode d'apprentissage de l'anglais en France commence ainsi : "my tailor is rich, my tailor is not rich..." Je ne sais dans quelle catégorie il se place mais en tout cas c'est un beau portrait ! Eclairage, netteté et composition : tout est bien. Bravo et merci.

Hi Luca.
Très joli portrait....son visage marqué, son regard vide, beau moment.
C'est beau ce blanc qui tape et ce contraste avec ce visage foncé mais quand même détailé.
Le fond vert donne un super arrière-plan.

A lovely shot Luca which works so well in the square format - a nice depth of shadow detail - a good composition and that look - I took a picture of a street taylor in Bewthlehem a week or so ago and he had such a similar expression - I'll post it here sometime.

a beautiful capture. I like the portrait of this old man with these big eyes. He has a nice expression, very calm. His white robe and the big white turban are amazing. I like his old mashine.

Very nice. Hard to keep detail in white and in his face but you did nicely with only a little blow out on the turban.

Wonderful expressive portrait.
Great pov, colors, light and sharpness.
I like much the contrast between the dark skin and his white turban and his white shirt.
I like much the withe bobin too and the green wall in the background.
Nice calm atmosphere.

The detail and lighting in this photo couldn't be more perfect! The sharpness brings out the man's facial expression even more. The composition is incredible and the lighting makes every single object look astounding. Amazing photo! -Lara
