The region Ash-Schamaliyya in the north of Sudan has an area of ​​348,765 skm and is mainly dominated by the Sahara and the Nubian Desert, except for a strip of farmland on the banks of the Nile. In the north is the town of Wadi Halfa and the Nubia Lake, which forms the Sudanese part of Lake Nasser.
