Photographer’s Note
The industrial area of Souq Sharbi in Omdurman is one of my favourite places in Khartoum. It bustles with activity and people garfting for a living. There are sopa factories, haulage companies and auto-repiar shops. All the dusty streets (no tarmac here) are stained with black oil and the smoke fills the sky some days.
These guys were breaking stones for a living. When I walked past they were playing cards - which is not something you should be doing on a Khartoum street as it is (I have been told) against the law.
This photo is best described as a snap; the DOF isn't quite right and I had to struggle with it because the sun is actually just a little to the left behind the scene. Still, it's a nice momento.

The expressions they hold out for your camera are nice and candid. I like the pyramidal formation too. The bicycle in the foreground is slightly distracting. Have tried to correct that with a WS. Hope you like it. :)

Nice shot of daily life. I like how they pose for you and find it very funny too. Did you ask them to stand that way? They make a good "pyramid".
