Photographer's Note
After seeing the pyramids at Cairo, it was nice to sit back and relax at these, much smaller, but much much more relaxed, out of the way and "less touristy" set of pyramids in Northern Sudan.
Some of the tops blown off by explorers searching for treasure decades ago. Some modern building techniques used to fix them which isn't too aesthetically pleasing, but a fantastic setting and a very good effort on the part of the Sudanese to rebuild and protect this ancient site.

WOW!
A very interesting TE share, and to learn about the pyramids in Sudan was the most teaching activity of this evening's TE session. Not many details in your note, but i will search for it. TFS,
Deniz

I sure wish the Sudanese government would apply that "rebuild and protect" ethic to their own people. Someday I would love to see these pyramids, when I can go without constantly thinking of what a horrific place I am in, for many of its own citizens.
This is a great picture, particularly with the accent provided by those two camels. Something I haven't seen before.
Regards, Ken.

John: I've seen these in photos and prints, but a first here on TE - and germane. Great desert light. The two camel drivers remind one of a 19th century lithograph. best, c

Hello John,
Nice to see small pyramids on the dry land, the color just like on the Mars, completed with passing camels and riders, good shoot.
