The eye of the sangoma at is at a place called Rustlers Valley. It is a 12m tall sandstone arch on a huge fault line.
Rustlers valley gets its name from a hidden canyon where stolen cattle were once concealed until they could be smuggled away.
The valley is a sacred place for sangomas (witch doctors)to undergo their training.
Every year at around easter a festival (sort of like a woodstock thing) was held here with plenty of different kinds of music and people camping for a few days. Other than that it was a sort of hippie haven and people could come and stay here, unfortunately it burned down last year some time, so they are trying to rebuild it.
I have also posted a different view in workshop.
Scanned from slide film.

Hello Wanda,

The people under the arch make the feature look even bigger. Interesting point of view and good light to compose this image. The colours and sharpness are excellent. Beautiful place. Thanks Wanda.

That seems like a gentle kiss between the two rocks which has been frozen in time. I like the composition and the colours

Hi Wanda,
The natural formation is quite interesting and you showed it very effectively and nicely. The POV is well chosen; I like the layered compo (grass, trees, rocks, sky) and the trees on the FG make a kind of symmetry with the rocks. The tiny human figures are well positioned and give a great sense of scale.
The sharpness, light and colours are spotless, it's highly remarkable for a scan.
Regards, José.

Hi Wanda,
Special rock formation, in the middle of sunny bush landscape. Nice deep scene with fg and bg in balance. Those people under the arch add sense of scale.

Hi Wanda,
I especially like the comparison that you've here of the size between the humans and the arch. Really fascinating.
Well done,
SHaeri

A nice photo of the ridge. I like your low angle, it really makes the structure look very impressive.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Wanda,

Thanks to your workshop, I can see you've chose an excellent point-of-view, for an excellent presentation of this place. From the low angle and closer view, the Eye of the Sangoma looks colossal and in total wilderness.

Your image is really well "built", with successive layers, distinct in textures and colours. The light makes your image very vibrant and allows all details to stand out.

Excellent work, of more than a decade ago! From young and already passionate Wanda... :-P)

Cheers!

André

Hello Wanda,
beautiful natural compo very well presented. Quality is excellent, you did a great job scanning the film, colours are beautiful with the blue of the sky well contrasting the bright brown of the arch. The 2 people under the arch are well placed to give the right scale and perspective. Excellent job and congratulations for your beautiful gallery.
Thanks for sharing it.
Regards,

Igor
