| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This photo doesn't look dramatic or somehow bright.
The reason for posting it is to show the real southern point (Cape Aguilhas)of African continent.
It doesn't look as special as Cape of Good Hope does, it is much further from Cape Town, there is less "history" about it... All those things make hundreds of thousands of tourists that come to Cape of Good Hope think that they are standing at the southern tip. Tourist giftshops and restaurants add to that feeling. And nobody pays close attention to the engraving on the stone that says "The most south-WESTERN point of Africa" (of course, it is ME who capitalized the word "western", most people don't notice the trick).
So please see the real SOUTHERN tip of Africa on this photo - CAPE AGUILHAS! Behind those rocks - only Antarctica:-) |

Hi Olga,
Lovely photo on a sunny day. Simple & pleasing. I like the colors & composition. And educational notes.
Best Regards,
Latiff.
Hi Olga,
Hahaha, great note. Like the part of the 'south-WESTERN'. Yep, I got it ;-). Not the most exciting sea-shore as you rightfully point out, but your note makes this photograph. Just knowing that behind that horizon there is nothing anymore, but Antarctica... :-)
Have a good weekend!
Greetings, Dennis
