Photographer’s Note

I noticed this youngster sitting on the embankment of the donga, rolling what looked like mud in his hands. He was actually digging handfulls of clay out of the gound. He then poured water from a plastic bottle to wet it and formed it into a malleable lump. From it he skillfully formed little clay animals. He told me that he dried them in the sun for a day and then sold them to the tourists on the village square of Clarens.

Technical: cropped, sharpened, added frame and resized.
