Photographer’s Note
I noticed this youngster sitting on the embankment of the donga, rolling what looked like mud in his hands. He was actually digging handfulls of clay out of the gound. He then poured water from a plastic bottle to wet it and formed it into a malleable lump. From it he skillfully formed little clay animals. He told me that he dried them in the sun for a day and then sold them to the tourists on the village square of Clarens.
Technical: cropped, sharpened, added frame and resized.

Great picture Imgard, very well seen.
Hands are always so fascinating.
Sometime - like in your photo - you don't need more.
It keeps a lot to the imagination.
The details are fine and sharp.
I love the composition.
Regards Ingrid.

Hi Irmgard,
A beautiful close framing, you have light on it and spot on focus for maximum detail, I like as well the red clothes adding some variation to the browns.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Imgard
Great, tender shot. One can have no doubt, what there is going on - the little lamb is made of clay with these clever young hands. Perfect composition and wonderfull colouring. Love it. Greetings T.

Hello Irmgard,
I like the way you have cropped this! It was a brave action but has worked very well! There is only the intention of the shot to focus on ... and it tells a story! Lovely sharp detail.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

a beautiful image, well captured. The right hand (on the left) that emerges from the dark to the light where it is forming the clay is what makes it a strong image for me.
