Photographer’s Note

In keeping with my notes on Muizenburg look here

I took these huts at an angle to give overall depth of perspective to the composition. I cropped part of beach sand at the front upto the corner of the yellow hut to the right in order to emphasise the angle.
The beach was quite empty and in the very far distance the whales were frolicking. Muizenberg is a pretty town with some parts run down which is under refurbishment and new developments taking place. Also seeing a new young crowd snapping up property very quickly.

Hi Lynette. I slightly prefer this one over the previous angle, due to the way in which the diagonal enhances a feeling of perspective, and segments the foreground into the two triangles of sandy beach and turquoise water. Nice add with the hills in the back and the high blue sky. Watch out for the horizon, it is slightly leaning to the right.

Once again, a very nice picture with great colours. Though this one is beautiful as well, I prefered your post of yesterday, due to its framing and point of view. Still, again, it's a very good composition.

This is a nice one, Lynette. Good deep perspective of these colourful beach houses which feature on a couple of your other uploads. I think you could remove the noise in the sky with neat image and straighten the horizon, to make the photo shine. I made a WS version, have a look.

Hi Lynette, good picture, i pretty like it, the composition is excellent and this is a place very sharpness ... but you miss your PP there i think, i would have tried to bring there more punch to it, ie more contrast or saturation.
Anyway i like the picture :)

Hi Lynette,
Interesting picture with great colours but too much sky for me. With interesting clouds, you could keep this importance for the sky but as it is only blue with no attraction, I wish to focus more on the subject, taht is to say the huts.
I wanted to post a WS but I just see that I had exactly the same idea as Pasternak, cropping the sky, putting more saturation and sharpness and removing some noise.

I had quickly seen the first one that I was finding a bit flat and I was wondering whther you had one capitalizing on the colorful perspective offered by these beach huts, just that I see now, and I like of course this one far better.
You might want to add a small extra touch of sharpening.

Fantastic image, the composition is very interesting and creative, but I believe that has too much sky, another interesting composition is the WS of Pasternak, it wins in force, I congratulate to you by this shot, seen and made well.

After having seen the front taken one, this one is great too.

You've really taken my secret quest to 16000 pts seriously, I see you've boosted my score recently, haha. Thaks! My gallery will have a sticker "Proudly South African" very soon ;-). Today I discovered a guy with 20000 pts, so I guess I'de better give-up now, hehe.
This photo is cool! I think you have chosen the best angle (to me) for this line of colourful huts. But I prefer the cropped version, focus more the attention on this "line". I'm just curious why it is in category "decisive moment"? Anyway, very nice idea and very good result, carefully composed...
But now you have to stop spending all your time on the beach Lynette, remember it's a serious site here, haha ;-)!

I know this place well it is beautifull with a long stretch of white sands, visit often as i can. interesting how you have positioned these huts as they are actually in a straight line. a good pov and perspective. i like it. definately a favorite. tks for your welcome.
