Photographer’s Note
I took this picture near Midmar dam, one of Kwazulu Natal's major water reservoirs. I went fishing there and in the afternoon the wind picked up and these amazing clouds formed. The rainbow colours in the centre are formed by ice crystals reflecting light at certain wavelengths. I used my pair of polaroid oakley sunglasses to get this shot as i don't have a polariser. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. That one cloud looks like a hand holding the sun, hence the name.

Hello Paul,
Welcome to TE. Hope you'll enjoy this family.
You had a good start with an interesting theme. The clouds seem really like something live. Nice colors. Greetz from Turkey.

very cool shot.. almost does look like an arm/hand cradling the sun. i think i'd crop this shot just above the power line so all the attention goes to the interesting cloud formation.

Effectivement, ce nuage peut faire penser a "a main de dieu" , encore que, elle s'est aussi exprimée en 1986, au Mexique, par le biais de Maradona....
Ici, on a vraiment l'impression qu'elle saisit le soleil...
bien vu
