I thought this was a great idea to advertise this old bicycle shop.
I am not too sure anymore exactly which town this was in, but it was a nice discovery on a road trip through KwaZulu Natal.

hi wanda. this is an unexpected surprize and made me smile :) very nice cadrage, interesting result. rotten textures of the shop adds a lot to the overall weirdo.

An amusing and eye-catching photo. This could be the only way to avoid having the bike stolen. If this is really a bicycle shop the relative decay of the building indicates that business is not so good.

c'est bien vu, j'aime bien l'insertion du vélo réclame dans ce format vertical.
Il y a de bons détails et un bon graphisme.

I'm glad you noticed this: it makes a cracking and funny photograph. Nice tight framing and good, natural colours. I hope the owner doesn't need to ride it too often...

Ciao e buona serata

Hello Wanda. Yes, an original and economical way to advertise a bicycle shop. I had seen the same with a motorcycle and a tractor, but never with a bicycle. Very nicely framed photo. Graphically, a bit like a collage of many quadrilateral forms: the door, the roof, the sidewalk, the sky, the window, etc. Nice. Claude.

Une façon originale et très visible d'indiquer la boutique . Cela remplace avantageusement une enseigne plus sophistiquée.

Excellent house detail photo with well balanced colors, perfect light, very good clarity. Excellent low angle viewpoint. The well-chosen tight crop eliminates all unwanted distractions. Well done.

Yes, a new shot with a bicycle :-)
Perfect composition and framing. I like the final graphic rendering with all the different colors and textures.
For the very very small detail, you should have done one or 2 steps backs for the point of view, to have the bicycle fully in front of the roof.
It is not changing anything, just pushing the composition at its conclusion.

wow, what a composition. You spotted this view nicely and composed it with a nice minimal effect. I enjoyed the skycycle a lot. Superb composition with very good colours. Tfs.

No need to write the job of this person, it is understandable by every person on the world (provide they know what is a bike!). So photography is another mean of writting, a common universal language.
By the way, it seems that you are in a poor city looking at the state of the bricks and door in which we can see 3 young bikers looking at this house.

A pleasant and amusing shot at the most unimaginable situations but it's a great way to advert or to safe keep the valuable bike! What glorious contrasting colors and joy to view with the extra bonus below. Thanks to your keen observation in the first place, Congrats.
This reminds me of a bigger stuff on a roof - a small truck - captured in Turpan Xinjiang China Apr 2008 - I have yet to upload on TE
Hv a great week end.

This one made me smile, what a great way to safeguard ones bicycle. Maybe I should try the same with mine ....
No, truly it works perfectly as an advertisement for a bicycle shop somewhere in rural KwaZulu indeed.
have a great sunday

An amusing shot. I love the faded colours and generally run-down look of this place. Very good detail and framing.
Kind Regards, Ann

hehehe this is wonderful. I love your title and these people that own the shop are so quirky that I wouldn't be able to resist going inside the shop. Excellent vertical frame, good strong colours and excellent textures. Thanks for sharing.
Have a lovely day

The house looks old but the bike seems in good condition. They have also a photo of people with bikes on the door. An original idea and I like the composition and the format you have chosen.

Dag dear Wanda
A lovely shot and indeed thanks for stopping, shooting after seeing this scene. I was trying to figure out the pastel artwork on the glass door to try & understand whether those were two lamps at the top. The layers work well. Interesting observation by Yves & also your comment...I am trying to visualise how the picture would have been....

Hello, although the theme is about doors it was the bicycle that caught my eye. I was wondering why it was on the roof.
Interesting idea for a theme:)
You could go anywhere in the world and find doors of all sorts to photograph...
