[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a region in the Cape called Tulbagh and lies about an hour or so drive from Cape Town. Tulbagh is on the wine route of South Africa where you can sample some fine wine. Here a bird of prey is hunting probably for mice in the fields.

Hi Wanda,

Beautifull scape...
Superb tones and lights that enhances this composition.
EXCELLENT.
All the best, dear friend.

Hi Wanda,
three stripes of landscape, with wonderful natural colours. I also like the curves in the field, giving a lot of perspective to this.
Compliments, Christian

Hi Wanda,
A lovely scene with a variety of contrasts:
- Shadows on the upper ground and warm light on the harvested fields.
- Rugged nature as upposed to domesticated land.
- Empty expanse but then a vision of life.
Really got my imagination going.....take care.
Regards, David

Hi Wanda,
fine composition of three layers in good contrasts, the bird is a great bonus. The lines in the field are attracting as they seem to be a part of a great circle. I also like the good play of light on the hills and the good textured clouds.

Very nice catch with the rounded lines on the fields. I like the depth brought by the successive layers and clouds. The bird appears almost red.

Hi miss van den Hogen,

Héhéhé... Cape Scape, I like that! You're usually the bird of prey who fly above people and places, hunting for good aerial images... :-P)

Although I wouldn't have guess what was this black and red object, it's the first thing I've seen, looking at your scene. It doesn't stand out by its size, but through the clarity and light it gets, in front of the slightly tone down mountains. The clouds create a play of shadows over the landscape while leaving the field in full light.

I like the diversity of textures, from the ground grooves, like if you were standing on a giant LP record, to the mix of rock and vegetation of the mountains, up to the fluffy clouds.

Good to see some images from your part of the world from time to time.

Bye Wanda!

André

Hello Wanda,

The golden fields look great from this point and against the darker hills in the background. The bird is well inclused in the frame and add an interesting focal point because of its bright colours. Good angle and excellent balance of light and colours. The image is sharp and present us an beautiful view of this countryside. Thanks Wanda.

I like the dexterity with which you jump across countries and continents Wanda! But this one is as pleasing as they come and has been masterfully crafted by you in the truest tradition of giving us the wider picture...always!

You captured the openness and scale of this landscape very well Wanda, and the bird of prey is a fine visual metaphor for the freedom of the wild. Although small, it immediately attracts the eye. Even so, the shot may have been more succesful if you could have caught the bird against the sky.
I like the simplicity of the image, and there's a good balance between the three horizontal layers.

Cheers,
Ben

I noticed that bird when I first opened the photo but I couldn't tell what it was. I'm glad you explained it in your note. Now it is a very interesting detail. This is a very nicely captured 'cape scape.' I like the shadows of the clouds and the lines in the field.
