Photographer's Note
Today I post a more detailed look at the wonderful old Cape Dutch church I posted previously. (see http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Africa/South_Africa/photo1389599.htm)
This is the oldest church building in the Cape that is more or less as it was when built. Selling the erven (plots) along Kerkstraat (Church Street) raised money for enlarging the church and here you can see the wonderful gable that some of the money was spent on. The gable is decorated in the Neo-Classical style with a shell in the apex and festoons below. The festoons each side of the door are roses.

Hi Rosemary
beautiful detail this, full of wonderful flowing shapes and shades. Looks so perfect set against a deep blue sky. Perfectly executed and a quality presentation. Exquisite!
Have an enjoyable Sunday - Brian.

Bonjour Rosemary
C'est un peu la continuité de l'image d'hier mais plus dans le détail. J'aime le contraste du blanc sur le bleu polarisé.J'aime le graphisme et le cadrage serré.
Bon dimanche

Hello Rosemary,
You have composed the shot well with the three principal elements of interest lined up in a diagonal across the frame. The image is well composed with the whitewashed walls making a pleasing contrast with the glorious blue sky. Excellent rendering of the architectural detail.

Rosemary
Je préfère encore cette vision rapprochée à la photo précédente. Remarquable maitrise de l'exposition qui donne un rendu parfait de ces murs blancs.
Amicalement

Hello Rosemary,
I love the striking white against the vivid blue in your detailed architectural shot. My eye is drawn to the range of lovely curves, conclaves, convex, scrolls, domes , shells, urns - such rich detail which stands out beautifully in your closely cropped image- I may be wrong but I think the details are much more striking for your choice of a close and tight composition than they would be from a broader view.
Have a great week
Thanks for sharing

Hi Rosemary,
A real pleasure to see more of this beautiful church. The close up of the walls affords great depth, and the detail in the pillar tops is splendid. Really lovely composition to show this off perfectly.
Best wishes

Hello Rosemary
Wonderful architectural details from this cape dutch church. Great contrast between the pure white of the building and the deep saturated blue sky. Just a hint of green in the foreground rounds this nicely up.
have a good day
