Photographer's Note

While getting ready to move to South Africa, one of the first animals I wanted to meet were these little penguins living at Boulders Beach in Cape Town, as contrary to lions and rhinos, to which you have to keep your distance, I knew I could get close and personal with these adorable aquatic birds.

This endangered colony can be viewed from a boardwalk where we can't get in touch with them, but further away on a close-by beach, these guys come swimming where beach goers are, and this is where you can approach them at arms length.

Last time I came back to visit these little fellows, it was the mating season, so I didn't want to interrupt mother nature process. Maybe this guy is a proud father by now.
